About

Wherein the adventures and musings of the Miao Brothers and Miaolings are chronicled. The Miao Chronicles started out on Vox in 2006, and have since migrated here to WordPress. As the humble chronicler, I strive to provide the feline Miaos with the photographic homage they deserve. It is my duty to record their various important activities, such as napping, stretching, and sunbathing. You can rely on the Miao Chronicles for a consistent supply of the finest quality floof, interspersed with occasional feline wisdom. Sometimes I sneak in a vegan recipe that may or may not be feline-approved, but almost always contains floof.

  2. Thank you so much for signing up to follow my blog. I’ve been enjoying your blog for a long while now and am always so impressed with your photographs. At the shelter, I find it really challenging to photograph the cats, mainly because the lighting is so poor (and I always prefer to shoot with natural lighting and avoid using a flash if at all possible) and the backgrounds are not ideal either. Anyway, if you have any suggestions, please pass them my way! Best wishes to you and The Miaos!

What you do for that cats at your shelter is wonderful. I’m glad I discovered your blog (through Pedro!). Thank you for the compliments… lighting isn’t great in my house either, but at least I do have windows so I try and wait for sunny days. For backgrounds, I got a 3 by 4 ft sheet of plywood and I drape cloths or scarves or blankets over it. I even use wrapping paper. Your photos are fantastic, though, so whatever you’re doing works! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Thank you! I think the background makes a big difference. Although I can blur the background through aperture settings, it might be fun to bring in some fabric or a flexible backdrop of some sort for fun. Thanks again. Hope you and The Miaos are having a great weekend.
