Exciting Developments in the Miao House

Not a new kitty. A new couch. For the kitties. It’s a love seat, but with a bit of care, it can accommodate all five Miao Kitties AND me. Considering the small size of the couch and the large size of the Miaos, it’s pretty impressive. Chun and sometimes Sprock prefer the back of the couch, which makes it easier for all of us to fit.

This photo was taken during the early days of the couch’s introduction to the Miao House. It has brought unprecedented peace and cuddliness to all the Miaos. Before the couch, Mani would not nap near Sprocket or Chun, for the practical reason that his naps would never last very long. Sprocket believes in pre-nap boppings to improve his appetite for his naps. Under the benevolent influence of the couch, however, they will nap within feet of each other, and sometimes even adjacently. As in, paws touching! Since this photo was taken when we first got the couch, you can see Mani and Sprocket are maximally distanced. Over the weeks, they have grown closer and closer.

You can also see that the couch has been rather garishly decorated with the most offensive combination of fleeces. This was done at the Miao Brothers’ request. I have to admit that it fits with the hideous pink walls though.

    A magic couch!

It’s even brought us new Miao photos!

All fleeces match. This is a known fact among fleece connoisseurs. And who is more connoisseuring than the Miaolings? Yay for new furnitures that bring about peace and pictures!

Heeee! SO nice to hear from you, Little M, and to see the new loveseat and the kitties! Every chair, couch, etc. in my house has fleeces or blankies or comforters. With critters it’s just so easy to throw them in the wash and the furniture doesn’t smell like critters.

I have weekly blanket washing…and it’s always nice how clean they all smell. And, as Red said, they always always match!

You’ve got fleeces to match every color cat hair! Brown, black, white, pink, blue, green!

  7. Wow! A couch officially just for you (well almost)! That’s furry nice!

I know that shade of pink!
I have painted over ACRES of that paint.
All fleece matches, it’s a texture thing.
(What will happen if you condense ALL the Miaos!
Can the fabric of reality withstand that much massed felinity?)

Painting these walls is one of my long-term projects. the roof comes first, I guess for insurance reasons, although obviously I will not be doing that myself. not painting the roof, replacing it. retiling it or re-whatevering it. then re-cupboarding and re-flooring and re-painting the kitchen. then the pink walls in the living room. although the pink walls would probably be easier to take care of. Foxy thinks I can paint all the rooms different shades of green.

when I was on the couch with ALL the Miaos, it was a cosmic experience.

  9. Oh joy! Peace reigns on the “couch of many colors” with snuggly naps being enjoyed by Miaos who otherwise might be in far corners of the house! A new gathering spot is always nice – I bet underneath the fleece lies a couch that will never truly be totally exposed! HAHA Nice to see some photos of the gang!

The fleece blankets make it more comfy! I have one as well, and we use it on the cold evenings. 🙂
