Red, white, and Sprocketty

Sprocket likes fireworks. He has never seen them, but he stays glued to his window screen when he hears them and I know he’d like me to take him to the river to watch the fireworks, but I won’t because I don’t like loud noises and mosquitoes, so poor Sprockers has to spend the night at home thinking about all the fun he could be having. If he did go, though, he would wear his little red beret and I would festoon him with his festive star-spangled sparkly boa, and everyone would be so awwwwww’ed by his adorableness that they would forget about the fireworks.

  4. Happy 4th of July to the Miaos! Fireworks make me jump, so I’ll stay inside with the air conditioner and the dog and watch “John Adams” on the DVD player.

TK likes fireworks too. He thinks they’re for his birthday, not America’s, though. He has seen them since people around here shoot off big sparkly ones even though everything is banned. He doesn’t like them right in his yard, however.

Any kitters with ‘rocket’ in its name would of course be partial to fireworks. Sprocket looks most festive and patriotic – and completely stunning.

And as for the fourth of July, I’m afraid that I have to share this. Parents bought a shelter kitten:
