miao update (tashi & merlin)

I took Tashi and Merlin to the vet today for a regular check-up. Tashi has gained half a pound since his last visit, a good sign, and we will know more about how his kidneys are doing after his blood work comes back. Merlin is doing better weight-wise too, though he mysteriously lost a bunch of fur on his left side. It is hard to see because he is so floofy.

I am trying to get a better picture of Merlin but it is surprisingly difficult. Most of the time he is either eating or napping in a little enclosed wicker basket. Overall he seems to be doing okay, though not as active as he had been a couple years ago.

Anyways, things seem to be pretty stable. Ping is flourishing and regularly demands extra meals. If the sunshine cooperates, I will take some Miao Brother photos this weekend.

Prof Tashi’s M (for Miao) really shows up now that he’s lighter-colored.

I love the Sprock paw sneaking into the Merp floof picture. Merlin is still a powder puff.

Glad Ping is still the trencherman.

  2. Merlin sure is floofy! He looks like a feather duster. MOL!

That’s really good news 🙂 I lost my old kitty to kidney failure and she just got thinner and thinner 😦 It took me a while to get used to being able to squeeze my new kitty, I’d got too used to the fragile one.

  4. Such a handsome crew the brothers are……love the expression on Merlin’s face in the August 2011 photo.

    Merlin looks absolutely adorable!
Weird he lost a lot of fur tho on left side.

I’ve missed Merlin! He looks like a fuzzy caterpillar in the February shot. I could see him in a beret in the August shot.
