Ever since he was a kitten, Mani has been known as the Zen Cat.
I’m not sure why. Maybe it has something to do with his tendency to stare contentedly into space as he contemplates his next nap and/or snack.
He most definitely has an “inward gaze”. He is contemplating mysteries that we can’t even imagine!
So, when cats stare contemplatively into space, is it called “fuzzy navel gazing”?
Hello Mani. You remind me of my dear Himalayan cat years ago; Tofu. Tofutti. Mr. Tofutti Head.
Aw, he really lives up to his name. Oooommmmmmm…. hummmm…. (you already have the mani and the lotus!)
Cat zen. Nothing like it there is
i thought his nickname ‘zen cat’ either had to do with his affinity for eating fruit, or for cuddling with our mother when she was meditating… either way i think the ‘zen cat’ nickname came from her… his ‘ottoman’ nickname came from you, remember that one?
Awww, yes, Mani loved his apples when he was little! He also loves rolling on fresh groceries. Mani is still the Ottoman, because he’s otterly and he’s Mani, and somehow when we were studying the Ottoman Empire he got that nickname.
there was a line in the textbook that other countries considered the Ottoman Empire “the sick man of Europe”. you thought that was adorable and started calling him “the ottoman” and “the sick man”.
thank you for the look into Mani and littlem’s past.
gēgē! I ❤ you!
